Although there are countless people who inspire me, someone who I constantly admire is Jacey Duprie of Damsel in Dior. I always learn something new from Jacey, whether it’s from a personal “Damsel Diaries” blog post or a quick photo posted on social media. Her realness and candid sense of humor are what inspire me the most, and Jacey’s website was one of the reasons I fell in love with blogging in the first place.
I was a nationally-ranked tennis player for many years and dreamed of playing in college, or perhaps even becoming a professional one day, but my athletic career ended when I developed countless overuse injuries and had to undergo multiple surgeries. Forced bed rest was terrible, especially since at the time, being an elite athlete was my entire identity. Tennis was what I loved doing the most, and it will always hold a special place in my heart, even though I can no longer play competitively. When I discovered Damsel in Dior, however, everything changed, and I realized I wanted to follow in Jacey’s footsteps. She also perhaps loves dogs as much as I do, which is a hard task to accomplish! Thank you, Jacey, for inspiring us all and bringing kindness and a sense of humor to everything you do!
