In Los Angeles, practically every day of the year is fit for wearing espadrilles. However, it feels slightly strange to be wearing sandals during the so-called winter months, even though the temperature often rises above 70 degrees. Now that summer is truly right around the corner, I wanted to purchase a pair for this season. While browsing on Nordstrom’s website, a particular pair of lace-up espadrilles captured my attention; the subtle platform and gorgeous brown tone made the design pop out to me. However, as soon as I clicked on the shoe, I felt disappointed because I was convinced it was the $495 design from Aquazurra, and I wanted to keep searching for a more affordable alternative – but I was wrong! Although the shoes from Caslon look identical to Aquazurra’s signature Belgravia espadrilles, they are nearly $400 less expensive! I can barely tell the difference between the two. How’s that for some cents and sensibility?
